This week’s scripture message at Vessels of Clay Yoga:

John 8:12 (NIV) When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world.  whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

(The Message):  Jesus once again addressed them:  “I am the world’s Light.  NO one who follows me stumbles around in the darkness.  I provide plenty of light to live in.”

GuRu:  “Gu” signifies spiritual darkness and “Ru” signifies the act of removing.

Jesus is my Guru.

  1. Yea excited for the new series, sign me up for sure for Thursday’s class, will get back to you on Mondays, are you offering the discount?? I might have missed that in the email-that I did read (wink) 🙂 🙂
But I love the verse for this week, and I love that you explained what a GURU is, I always have wondered. Yes Jesus bought us peace, it is sad when we live daily stressed out, tired, worn out when all we have to do is go to Him, so easy, but we (I) make it so difficult. The sermon last week the preacher said peace is always by righteousness, you won’t have peace without being in His righteousness:)
See you next Thursday and hopefully Friday!!! And hope you pick my name-again:)

    • hee hee…you are adorable!
So, if you read the info above, and also in your e-mail, you see that the discount available this time is for those students taking both Thursday and Monday night classes who bring a friend to the Monday night series…if the friend does not ever need a rebate, you will receive a 10% rebate yourselves for the Monday night class at the end of the series…=-)
      I have you entered!!!

    • ps….I was also happy when I ran across this explanation of GURU! And how perfect, right?!? When I read it, from a secular resource I might add, I was like, “That’s Jesus!!!!” Lucky for us, He covers us with His righteousness…just doesn’t feel like it sometimes, especially when we haven’t been tuning in to Him as often! At least that is how it is for me!

I don’t really consider myself all that deep, but it is nice to be reminded that Jesus is always the light in the darkness. Maybe if I start classes on Thursday night it will give me more time to meditate and reflect. Sign me up girl!!!!!

    • Yay, yay, yay on so many levels!!!
First, let me say how proud I am of you for taking this little foray into the techno world…I know, not our favorite, right? But we can choose to get off the computer whenever we want; amen!!!
I have you entered into the Give-a-way, and I have you listed on Thursday’s class…(which I will confirm with you later just to be sure!)
You are deep enough to me, darlin’, and Jesus will always be your Light!!! I am glad you may soon have another outlet to tune-in to Him…and you…
      big MUAH!

  3. Richard Cummings said:

To me, light takes away fear. In darkness our senses are dulled in ambiguity. Light reveals the context of our lives, revealing pitfalls, illuming the correct path. Light warms and comforts. It creates life. In darkness we are drawn to it in hope.

  4. Know and pray…clearly tired this morning.

  5. so true, darling! and I gotcha’ down!
