Well, here I am starting a blog. Right. So is this a new way to be self-centered? Gosh, I hope not. =-)
Actually, this has been asked of me.
So, while I slowly take my time getting used to this whole site, I do want to invite whoever may read, to laugh with me. Not at me, with me. Ok, you can laugh at me, too. Humour is an awesome thing!
At the time of this writing, I have no pix posted, but I hope to soon. the regular visual of me is that of a 5 foot 1 1/2 inch brunette with a round face and a fairly fit frame. . .My hair is curly, my eyes are hazel, my nose is unique (ok, a little bigger than dainty, let’s say…I am trying to learn to be kind to myself) and my smile is big and happy because I love to look up into the sky and talk to my Father in Heaven!!!…
But here is what I am sharing today…let’s say I can clean up pretty well. What I want to share is the opposite of that statement. Humour starts now…
Today I had the blessing of catching a glimpse of my reflection in the TV screen as it went dark for a moment between frames in a movie…I was on my rebounder. Got a bouncy rhythm in your head? If you know me, you may have a decent picture in your head, I don’t know…I am about to giggle that one out of you…Now picture a round faced brunette with her hair pulled back tightly in bun. Add a pair of great big glasses circa early 90’s (I wear these only when I am working out or housecleaning and don’t feel like putting in my contacts or messing up my good glasses). Still bouncing. Ok, now add a headband (gotta catch the perspiration). Not just any headband. A red, white and blue headband that was a gift from a co-worker. Yes, the nation’s colors on my forehead, holding my Sally Jesse Raphaels to my face, bouncing up and down. Did I mention no make-up? Now add to that image a sky blue plastic top with its corresponding beige plastic pants…oh yes, I am wearing a sauna suit. Gotta get those lymphatics goin’, don’cha know! So, now try to put all of these fabulous images together, maybe throwing in some arm motions like Jumpin’ Jacks, and you just might have the blessed picture I got to see via the dark TV screen.
Proof that God loves me and loves making me laugh! and proof that I am not nearly as uptight as I could be…
Have a blessed day, my darlings.
Psalm 139:12-14 (The Message)
to be out of your sight?
If I climb to the sky, you’re there!
If I go underground, you’re there!
If I flew on morning’s wings
to the far western horizon,
You’d find me in a minute—
you’re already there waiting!
Then I said to myself, “Oh, he even sees me in the dark!
At night I’m immersed in the light!”
It’s a fact: darkness isn’t dark to you;
night and day, darkness and light, they’re all the same to you.
13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
